Archivists and librarians,

 

Archives across the country are opening doors and welcoming students for their first taste of research with primary sources. If you are considering outreach for students in grades six through twelve and home-schooled students and wonder how to begin, National History Day (NHD) provides the infrastructure, high standards, guidance, and realistic time frame to help students succeed with archival research. 

 

The goal of this toolkit is to help you decide if working with NHD is right for your repository and guide you in establishing policies and practices that are right for your circumstances. The toolkit includes:
